Ramble Together | Episode 2 : Chapter 1 - Free to Focus

Hey friends! We hope you enjoyed our IGTV and had some take aways from Episode 2 where we shared our answers to the reflection questions.

Here is the reflection from Chapter 1:

  • Look back on the last few weeks and identify the moments in which your stress or anxiety seemed to spike. Those moments where you grit your teeth or suddenly want to cry. Think deeply about what the story in your head is in those moments. That nagging feeling of insecurity, the voice of someone you had a hurtful conversation with or the word that someone spoke that you’ve been trying to ignore, write it down. 

  • Now, ask yourself these four questions: 

    1. What surprised you as you reflected on the past few weeks?

    2. What emotions came up for you?

    3. How are the stories you are telling yourself affecting how you think about yourself?

    4. If I continue to hold on to these stories, what will they cost me? (friendships, connection, peace)

  • Next, jot down at least 5 things you hope for within the next 5 to 10 years of your life. These can be personal goals, family dreams, career-based, etc. 

  • As you go from here, when the moments of tension and discomfort arise, I want to encourage you to stop and ask yourself what the narrative in your mind is. Begin to face the hurt by drawing intentional awareness of how the story in your head affects your presence and relationships.
